On a knife's edge...

Those of you who regularly read the "FoT V" Thread on Unreal Playground might have already realized that the pack's progress is not going too well... There are different reasons for any of the contributors, but these shouldn't be discussed here. I will surely not blame anyone for giving a higher priority to real-life issues than to his mapping activities.
However, we all (meaning the currently active members of the TWC) had to think about how to continue the work on Fate of Time. Basically, at least Swanky and me - we have finished our maps for quite some time by now - were kind of tired of waiting for aeons without even getting some small information about the other maps' status. Therefore, I made a try to somehow enforce the other guys' motivation by setting a "deadline" for Chronoshift, saying I would release the map on this day, either as a part of FoT 5 or on its own. This day is today, and guess what: The other maps are still not finished. But that's not the entire truth... Even if the maps are not finished, I at least noticed that most of the guys obviously got back their incentive, and now the pack seems to be really close to be completed... Hopefully.
I should be honest at this point: I never really planned to release Chronoshift on its own. And I still hope that I won't be forced to do it, as a single-release simply does hardly receive attention in these days without Nalicity. This "deadline" had no other meaning than to kick the others' asses, and in retrospect it apparently worked out quite nicely. ;)
Anyway... There's nothing certain by now. The contributors' latest postings at UP all said something about "one or two more weeks", and that wouldn't sound too bad. Unfortunately, we all know that kind of postings, and we know how often those promises are broken. But this time, I'm rather optimistic that the current motivation will last as long as it's necessary, and that we can release Fate of Time as a worthy conclusion of the FoT series.
However, noone will know this exactly until the day we actually release the pack... Or cancel it. Except for the guys who are still mapping, all else will have to do what we've been doing for quite a while by now: Waiting...

Greetings from a sanguine Revelation

Fate of Time released!

Yeah, you read correctly. Although it sounds nearly incredilbe, we have finally released the fifth FoT mappack, Fate of Time. After many interruptions, delays and quite some discouragement in the building process, the pack is now available for download. ...
