Flags of Time originally started as a small mappack back in spring 2005 and was released in August. It was good to see that even years after the initial release of UT so many mappers were aboard contributing maps. Flags of Time is the very first FoT pack, presenting everything that it stands for – less maps, but rich in detail, quality gameplay, decent themes make these UT maps almost timeless.
As usual, we had to stretch the schedules a little, but as time shows, we needed that little extra time. Flags of Time started with the idea of having a quality mappack instead of just another mappack with maps of every standard. We wanted to do something more, something that artists, mappers and gamers admire.
This is also a package where newcomers contributed maps alongside with longtime experienced mappers sharing knowledge. The outcoming includes mines, spaceships, expressive non-symmetrical works, cybercities and forgotten castles. However, not everything ran fine with the first launch of the package. For different reasons, maps from King Mango and LJ Paranoid were not included. With some time passed, I must admit I’m sorry what happened, Mango.
In the end, the mappack was well perceived despite all its delays and internal problems.
